The Absynth Quintet captures the essence of cutting edge acoustic music, Landing somewhere on the spectrum between jazz and bluegrass. The Absynth Quintet consists of 5 accomplished players on guitar, mandolin, banjo, upright bass and percussion. One fan recently mused, ��It all sounded like it was coming from one instrument��. And that is what makes the AQ special � the music has a drive and interplay that leads to a powerful cohesiveness matched by few bands on the west coast.

The band�s debut album, �Flying Baby Swing� traces their evolution from a straight-ahead gypsy jazz band to a tight, improvisational, acoustic group way beyond traditional musical genres.
