THICKER THAN THIEVES plays an original blend of progressive ska,reggae,and punk rock.Their high energy performances are what makes them one of So cals most sought after bands combined with the fact that they have pioneered a chic new sound by mixing punk rock with a powerfull horn section.since the groups formation in 1999 this six member San Diego based band has built a strong following throughout California, as well as exiting music critics everywere, with their intence stage presence and intricate surf groove."TTT style is different than most and brings ska/reggae/rock-to punk then swings right to the beach with that surf sound"-KROWN MAGAZINE. iN 2002 TTT released ther debut cd "SMUGGLERS RUN" featuring their unique rendition of "Day Tripper"Which garnerd great reviews industry wide and further expanded thier fan base. They followed this up with a four song EP titled "RESPECT"that features Tippa Irie on the title track.Then in June 2003 SRH RECORDS honored them as underground band of the month.Since then it has been a non stop whirlwind ride for TTT,thier music has been included on two surf movie soundtracks "Saltwater Junkies" and "Neiborhood Whatch"This summer they will be appearing at a number of Vans Warped Tour shows followed up with extensive touring throughout the country.they are also playing at Reggae on the River in aug.2004 .The fall will find TTT back in the studio with Louie of god help me!Music and Miguel of Skunk Records(SUBLIME AFFILIATION)to finish their second full length CD due out the end of this year. For this hard working ,charismatic band,thier philosophy is simple:play positive music that makes people happy ,and play music that is inspiring for our youth and encourage them to do the same.
