| Guitar & Piano Lessons Guitar Lessons With Experienced, Patient Teacher ABOUT THE TEACHER: I've been teaching guitar in Humboldt County for about 4 years; before that I taught in San Francisco. I currently play guitar and mandolin in an acoustic folk/pop trio called The Phoebes. I come from a well-rounded musical background that includes guitar, piano, voice and music theory. I believe that music is for everyone and anyone can learn. My students stick with me! THE LESSONS: I teach private, beginning and intermediate guitar lessons for adults and children. Several techniques and topics will be covered including fingerpicking, strumming, rhythm, chords, ear training, and basic music theory. You will learn how to read chord charts, basic music notation and tablature so that you may quickly learn songs on your own. We'll also delve into listening to songs and figuring them out by ear. THE COST: Various days and times are available. The cost is $125/mo. for a lesson each week. I don't accept partial payments because the flat fee is not set on a "per lesson" basis; instead, you have a personal, weekly time-slot. The flat fee allows for some flexibility in that if you or I miss a lesson, eventually everything evens out because several times a year each lesson slot occurs five times in a month instead of four.
